Email switchover is on its way... Download PDF Version
As a part of moving all College's IT systems to Microsoft technologies, all staff and students will begin switching their email and calendaring service in October 2014.
The new Office 365 service will replace the current College's email, calendaring and contacts service, with full migration expected to be completed by end of Half Term.
The IT Services team are working to prepare for the switch and a dedicated IT Services website will be available shortly where you can find out when you are moving to Office 365 and what you can do to prepare.
The new system provides better support for web-based access across a variety of platforms as well as more accessible mobile and tablet access. It also has a number of features that staff and students have requested including:
- More efficient searching
- Sophisticated spam filtering
- Flexible sharing permissions for individual folders, email and calendars
- Group calendaring
- Email management using rules and categories
- Word processing features such as better signatures and mail merge
Throughout the switchover period support will be available from IT Services and a dedicated IT Services support website will be set up. They will also be available to offer advice on how you can get the most out of the new system by for example, configuring smartphones and tablets to work with Office 365.
